so... i went back to Borders to exchange that book for another, and i came across this small section that has rows of journals. one of the things i missed a lot about msia is that the bookstores back home have the nicest journals, diaries and stationery, EVER! of course most of those are imported from japan and taiwan, but still. over here you don't see all those cute stuff, and if you do - they usually cost a fortune. call me shallow, but a girl needs her cutsie stationery for her journal, no matter which century it is or how savvy technology has become. :P i love my colored pens, especially those metallic ones, and my journals too; those are my treasures. oh but i collect a lot of trinkets too! nothing sick or out of the norm, though; hmm maybe i'll write a list of my collections in the future.. together with pictures of them. :)
you can run away from the people and problems, but that doesn't mean they'll disappear. turn off the lights and make your fingers out of sight; you know it's still there. lately i've been practicing a sport, it's called "running away from your own shadow". needless to say, it wasn't successful. see, the idea was to get rid of the shadows for just a few seconds, haha but who am i kidding, pounds can be lost but the shadow cannot. bleh. :/ sad to say, avoiding has become my expertise, hmm maybe i can put that in my resume: other skills - exceptional in avoiding tragedies and disasters. in fact, if you think outside of the box, it IS a skill! here's my argument: when you avoid tragedies, you save yourself from dealing with the aftermath of the tragedies which strictly speaking is a blessing by itself, no?! :)))) of course, that being said, i know that just because i removed myself from the tragedy site, the tragedy itself might still occur. how many casualties with a broken heart or amputated limb, i cannot say, but my running away certainly will not affect the outcome. or, will it?

it's a bit into philosophy now
lanyu: haha no not really.. i just don't wanna make it too obvious. :P
totally agree with u on the cutesie stationery!! gotta add some color and fun into ur life, no? ;)
hmm, sounds like u're unconsciously grappling with the despair of existence. next time u go borders, find something on existentialism under the philosophy section. sartre and camus are good starting points, but tht's jt me. i'm biased ;p
jun: is that existentialism that i'm grappling with? hmm. oh i actually got a book of camus (the stranger)! haven't gotten to it yet though. ok will share with u my thoughts when i finish reading it. and then i'll get to sartre too. now im reading a nonfiction about US health care. and thomas harris' red dragon (just started, cuz the health care one is too dry). :/
health care stuff is damn dry la, tht's why u need some wine (not the dry ones tho *LOL*) to go with it ;p
and yes, do tell me abt the stranger :> will email u as soon as i get my report done k...
