it's... 4:22am now, my head's swimming in a pool of murky thoughts. i have not slept for close to 24 hours, and i don't think i'll get any sleep till probably when i'm on the plane. countless of errands to run, tasks to do, deadlines to keep track of. i won't be surprised if i end up going there without an essential piece of document e.g. passport/ID or warm clothing. forecasts noted that it's gonna be very cold at Flagstaff, Arizona for the next couple of days. and when i say very cold i don't mean Californian cold, i mean -7 degree celcius (20F) to 8 degree C (47F) cold. gosh i forgot how it feels like to be that cold anymore, after leaving Russia for so many years! pretty excited bout it actually.
*making mental note to put passport in bag and grab my jacket before i leave* so i'm heading to Flagstaff with some other students and a professor for Western Regional Honors Conference, to listen to some top honors students from around this region present their research works etc. To quote julie, it's just "an event whereby all the nerds and geeks aggregate and compare who's better than the other" (well the quote might have been distorted but thats the basic idea ler). :D i hope its not as agonizing as she described it to be! :/ but either way, nothing's gonna stop me from having fun! :)
presentations end on Saturday, so we'll have time to go to grand canyon and some national monument! can't wait!! yay yay yay! and it's all paid for! ;) am stoked! can't wait to explore all the national preserved sites; will write bout it when i get back, promise!
a little update on last weekend: Friday - went for sweeney todd musical; unfortunately no camera's were allowed so i didn't take pictures. but the play was awesome - the best part was that the actors actresses not only sang and acted but they actually played all the music from the beginning till the end too! how cool is that?!
saturday. the morning air always seemed a little heavier, chiller, even though the breeze were absent. well. unless you run, of course. which was what i did - because i thought i was gonna be late for the california forum of diversity in graduate education held in UCI. i could've gotten there earlier or on time, but noooooo, i took my own sweet time having breakfast reading jun's blog until i lost track of time. -_- so at 6.15am i jogged/speed-walked to school. the forum was overall a great event! i spoke to the director of biomed sciences' recruiting office of UMN Twin Cities and apparently neuroscience is huge there. am so applying to that uni for med school! if it doesnt work out then i'll go for grad school there! all in all, fruitful event, though i must say, i was so burnt out by the end of the whole forum. -,-
now where was i. the head's spinning now, the whole room is too. if i were to do a sobriety test right now i probably won't be able to pass it. see now i forgot what i wanted to say. oh well i better get some sleep. or maybe i'll get a bite, and study for a bit to make up for the '4 days vacation'. i hope there's internet to use over there... i could do some online homework that way..
will write more next post!
