Thanksgiving Holiday

Turkey day, Turkey day! Feast, people! It's the time of the year to stuff yourself silly and not feel guilty about it at all!

And so this year, I spent my thanksgiving weekend with my friend Sounjew and her family in her house at Stockton (which is about 6 hours' drive up north from LA, somewhere close to San Francisco). Had the best Laotian food ever, and I just couldn't stop eating!! I mean, I tried my best to not eat so much, but I really couldn't help it! They were really scrumpilicious! Shall ask Sounjew what I had and blog about them later! Didn't take any pictures of the food because this time the smart aleck i.e. yours truly brought the camera charger without the converting adapter (from a 3-point plug to the 2-point plug). ggrrrr. -.- So I don't even have one photo to show you all. If Sounjew sends me some, then I shall post 'em up here later.

Hmm so her brother, me and Sounjew we drove up on Wednesday evening and reached there at almost 1am, Thursday. Her sis made steamboat with ox tail soup, and ohmygod was it delish! Loved it so muchhhh! Steamboat on a cold cold night. What could be better?! NOTHING! =P Then we went to bed right after. heeeee. Made me feel as if I'm living life like a king.

Thursday morning. Had light breakfast. Her dad brought back crullers (yao zha guai)!!! How can I miss that?! It's THE thing I have all the time if I were back home in M'sia, next to pisang goreng that is!!! So I had a lil of that, wasn't as tasty as those in Msia, but still. Lunch time came and we went to Vatsa's (her sis' best friend) house for thanksgiving lunch! That's where we had our bestest best thanksgiving meal! *huge chunk of time passed by due to eating, talking and taking bathroom breaks* (p.s. I shall dedicate another post just for the food :P) 5.30pm - left to Sounjew's godmother's house for thanksgiving dinner. By that time I could hardly walk. :/

Okay am gonna skip the dinner part cuz you knew what I did, obviously. *duh* Went home, watched a movie with Sounjew and chatted till we fell asleep. Overslept and couldn't wake up for Black Friday shopping, but was kinda thankful for it. Cuz we both really had a good sleep. Could've slept some more but little Iggypop her cutest cousin woke us up. :) So the whole day I pretty much just spent my time playing with Iggypop, talking to the fam, EAT, nap, EAT again, more EATING, then it's time for us to head back again. Reached the village at exactly 11pm. Home sweet home, yay. Showered and slept.

'Twas a good trip. Refreshing. 3 full days of not touching any schoolwork, it felt great! So glad I went. :) The only slight regret was I didn't go shopping... could've gotten lots of good deals! Now I can only drool over my bro's and Aaron's new Sony cybershots and Nick's new Sony Ericsson phone which I kinda want really really badly. : ( Hmmph. It's okay those are only materialistic stuff won't die without them and I can get them in the future when I have lotsa money better ones too. (Gotta keep telling myself that to console self =P)

So on thanksgiving day, I'm thankful I'm alive and kicking (or more appropriately 'eating' hahaha), blessed with a whole lot of great people, caring friends, loving brother (although in his own wacky way), and most of all I'm thankful for my parents who made this come true. I'm thankful for the laughter around me, silly jokes and humor that never fell short, warm smiles, hugs, and sincere friendships. Gotta say, I'm a darn lucky girl to have some pretty awesome, kick-ass friends here, they know who they are. :) And quite a few scattered around the world too. Thank you all, for being part of my life!

=) Peace.
