New York City skyline.. taken from New Jersey. Chean and I stayed in her friend Sureen's place in Hoboken, New Jersey. It's bout 15 mins' path-train ride to the city.

Taken from the campus ground, before we left for NYC. ---> heading to the famous Magnolia Bakery!!! Oooh.. all excited! *jumping up and down*

And so! Got off the train at Christopher Street, looking for Bleeker St. where Magnolia Bakery is at. Heee. Can't help but smiling to myself. Chean and I are always always on the search for good eateries. (Oooops. I can almost see my dad and mom shake their heads in dissension.)

The Red Velvet cupcakes was their special that day. It's actually just yellow cake with apple cider and red coloring that makes the cupcake really red. Topping it up with whipped cream.

On our way there, we stopped by twice to ask for directions. And they're like, "Oh you're going there? I'll show you the way if you get me some!!" and "Ohmygod, their cupcakes are just amazing..." Is it really that good? Let's check it out!
I wanted the purple color icing one, that's sitting behind the counter. But they said they had to wait for those on the tables to be cleared before they can put out new trays of cupcakes. :( But then later on they were nice enough to 'sneak' out one purple one for me.:D awww so nice! So we took a picture with them! Sweeeeet.

What we bought. It's only to-go, so we had to find a place to test them. Settled down at a bread and pastry shop, ordered coffee to go with the rainbow cupcakes. I got myself 3 cupcakes, the three with colorful stuff on the icing sugar.

So you're probably wondering if it's as good as everyone says. Sadly, I'll have to say - no. They're over-rated. Sorry Roy, to shatter your expectations and whatnot bout Magnolia Bakery. But seriously, the cupcakes sucked. Only the icing sugar looked extremely pretty, and it sent me right to cloud nine due to the endorphins or smthg (cant recall)... Haha but because of that sugar high, I wasn't too upset bout the disappointment. The sugar did the trick I guess! Teehee. :P
