The Big Question

If you notice, there's a pattern for everything that's going on around us. Working people wake up to go to work; those can't afford a means of private transport rushing to catch public transportation whilst those more well-to-do rushing to avoid traffic. Students hurry to classes. Rushing for deadlines, rushing to eat or shower so as to save time; rush all the time. Rush through our routines that we're so used to till we never thought of questioning them anymore.

This is probably not new to you - us living a routine life. Heck, this has been what we're doing since the day you're born. Never-ending loops of cycles. Think about hens and eggs. Living things and their procreations. Seasons of the year. Time, in general. The only way you want out of the cycle is to be dead. Everyday we wake up eat work eat again work rest eat fun sleep. New day and the same thg repeats itself. A cycle that can't be broken. So what, you ask, is the whole purpose of this damn cycle?

I met a Christian a couple of weeks ago and she told me, the whole purpose of living is to serve God. A biology teacher once told us, the whole purpose of life is to procreate, to make sure we left our 'seeds' before we move on to the next realm. A Buddhist told me it's a chance for us to do good, so that we'll have a better lifetime when we're reincarnated. Some told me, it's a path of self-discovery, it's the means that matters and not the end, for ultimately we're all going to wilt. My friend who loves food (like me) said, of course we live to eat!! What about those who read this, a penny for your thought?

If you do not already have a theory of your own, the more you ask people the more variety of answers you'll get, and the more it'll confuse you. I used to love pondering about this during my me-time, over a cuppa hot coffee, and be fascinated at how other people answer this big question of Life. But the truth is, no one knows the truth, if there is one. And that's something we'll never find out. I forgot what made me wanna write about this... but it doesn't really matter. Whether or not we found the truth to this puzzle doesnt really matter as well, as long as you live your life to the fullest. And this, is very subjective. You might come across a lot of people who'd judge you and/or your actions, people who disagree with what you've done or how you lived your life, but ultimately the only person you have to answer to is yourself. They don't like? Too bad. Afterall, we can't please everyone, can we?

Note: Haha I find it extremely hilarious that I started out wanting to make a point which after writing the first two paragraphs I completely forgot what it was, hence ended with such a crappy and cliche conclusion. How dumb. I seriously have (and I mean SERIOUSLY.) memory problem. Early stage of Alzheimer's? *gasps*

I had something like that once ... now my answer's "I don't know. I'm too busy living mine." 'Cuz I figured that I don't wanna spend so much time pondering about it that in the end I end up just wasting a huge chunk/portion of it...

Sad, isn't it?
