Been referring to lots of people as 'weird' of late. But what makes someone weird? How does one define weird? Other things aside, to me weird is out of place. Abnormal, or out of norm ain't weird to me. It's just different from the usual protocol i know. The difference? Like, talking about something which is totally nonsensical to our logical brains is weird; talking bout somethg out of the blue yet understandable is fine. Telling a joke which is in truth just a statement and 10 out of 10 ppl dont think its anywhere near funny is weird; telling a cold joke or even a lame one is just different.
I dont wanna describe my encounters of weird ppl - there are too many i dont know which to choose, and besides these things are subjective anyway, I dont think I can very well convey what's on my mind right now or how I'd regard someone as weird in words. Yet as much as I find them weird, I'm (strangely) equally curious bout them, you know. How did they turn out to become like this in the 1st place? It's obvious they lack the communication skills and arent very sociable. But I'm sure no one's born this way. Somewhere along the way while they're growing up, there must be some X factors that contribute to this.... weird... trait.
I guess this is how they become the outcasts of their social circle and ended up sitting at a certain table every break time in the canteen; or have a special corner in the classroom. Poor souls. They most likely are just like us, just that they dont express themselves the same way as we do. Bet their souls and minds must be really tormented inside the shell. And everytime I think of this, I feel so guilty to classify them as weirdos myself. I mean, it could be me.
Then I thought of the efforts I made to carry out a conversation and remembered why in the 1st place I regard them as... that. Sigh. It's very extremely hard to be a nice person sometimes (or NOT to be mean). But I guess.... the thin line that lies in between (what we call weirdos and the normal ppl) depends ultimately on our tolerance level of Differences. Doesnt it?

According to statistics from the national archive, one out of six Malaysians is uncanny, or simply weird. These people could have some common traits, i.e. unimpressive outlook, poor communication, tendency to congregate with their own lot, and etc.
Yes i agree with the term "poor soul". They need help to search themselves out and open up more possibilities. But then it's very much easier said. I've got friends who are exactly weirdos who do only studies. Lame/cold jokes might just be the remedy. lol
Very nice post to read.
