i've thought long and hard on what i should do for my 30-day project. on one hand, i have a few ambitious projects that i can't wait to get started; on the other, i have a list of less ambitious, more of a habitual (but nonetheless important) activities i want to instill in my daily life that i should have gotten to long time ago but never did. i'd love very much to get started on the one project that i've been thinking of doing since 2008, but with my current overloaded schedule, i doubt i can do it anytime soon. after all, there is only 1440 minutes a day, 7 days a week, so no matter how hard i try to find extra time or stretch myself thin, there is still a limit to how much i can accomplish.
so! after all that verbiage of why i decided to put on hold my first choice of project, i shall settle for a more doable project: a 30-day food diary. i've already been doing this, so this is just me sharing my diet patterns - not that anyone else but me would care - but it's a good reminder to whoever who might stumble upon it, that we are literally what we eat. eat more twinkie, and i assure you, your blood vessels will be full of those gooey white-ish twinkie filling, all stuck on the walls of your blood vessels, only it has a graver term known as cholesterol - graver because if too much of it can cause blockages, and you might need coronary artery bypass graft surgery or stenting. or something. well okay, that might not be exactly true. :P but, point is, i've said this before and i'll say it again: we consume way too much than what our body really need; and contrary to the age-old adage, sometimes 'less' is really 'more'.
anyway, it'll be fun to keep track of my eating habits, down to every bite of chips ahoy and tablespoons of peanut butter. it'll be uncensored, all exposed. maybe this might even motivate me to watch what i eat. ;) how to present the data without making it too boring though, is something i still need to look at. maybe it's so trivial i might not even bother sharing the daily record. i don't know yet, we'll see.
as for my more-exciting project, i'll do it after classes end, in june. that, i'll make sure i share it with you all. but as of now, my first project would be a food diary. more details later. :)
