Dance Party Project: First 21 Days

a crisp two (or more) liners for each of the first 21 days of ideas. and my two-pence after, if any. :)

keymash - a program that autosaves your work and goes into screen saver mode when four or more keys are pressed simultaneously. the idea is to save your work before your kid causes some unrepairable damage.

radio alerts - work exactly like google alerts by sifting through the abundance of information out there for relevant keywords that interest you; only this is meant for snippets of radio programs of interest.

only famous (a romantic comedy) - this idea is an ironic paradox. ;) how do you un-famous someone on screen? by making a reality tv show out of a person's life is by default making him/her famous. but how do you reverse the process, on-screen no less? any ideas?

modcasts - you essentially create your own radio podcasts by choosing bits of radio programs you're interested in. but first, you need to splice the radio show into many small segments and tag it.

numberless calendar - (the selected project) it's a pretty basic idea to help/motivate people stick to a project or routine or anything really, for 30 days. more realistic than a new year resolution and offers flexibility.

spring cleanr -we all need of some kind of organizing tool, so here's one. this program helps your categorize all the files on your laptop/desktop into 4 categories: keep it, chuck it, archive it, and action it. pretty self explanatory. pretty neat.

street gallery - a mobile phone app that helps you identify street art, graffiti etc, and tells you more about the artist, their style, their work, and some interesting facts bout it. sounds cool, i'd use it. but the catch is, someone has to put together such an app first. (duh!)

smart business cards -in this ever-changing world we live in, it's about time someone comes up with this: a business card that stays relevant regardless of whether you change your number, address, job or whatever. the downside? you'd get pieces of business cards lying around, a bit cumbersome if you ask me. doesn't work quite as well as the bump app on iphone (or at least the idea of exchanging info by bumping devices).

recordings in concerts - the idea is to have people show up to a concert hall, sit and enjoy a record, perhaps even have the person responsible for the recording explain to the audience, track by track, the significance behind each song and help the audience appreciate the music in depth. i'd go to a concert like this.

vinyl scanner - the idea is to convert data from your vinyl records to digital form. i'm sure someone must have done this, or something of the like. not very appealing to me, but it might be to the vinyl collectors.

photo stack-and-scan - exactly like what it says. a scanner that allows scans a stack of photos one by one, and automatically upload them onto Flickr or some space (or not, your choice). if someone has already invented something like this or it's out there in the market, then it must not have a very good marketing team to promote the product.

a box of cool - a business idea to offer a year-long subscription of a package of all things 'cool' in it. i love this idea!! and i'm sure i'm not the only person who'd love to receive a box full of surprise with some really good stuff of value (not necessarily monetary value but cultural or historical) in it, so there's definitely a selling point. not to mention it'll be a lot of fun putting the Box of Cool together. ;)

karaoke-tube celebstar idol - karaoke-tube?! for real? first reaction: can't help but to stifle a laugh. in a good way. :P this is basically adding functions to the basic home karaoke set, like the ability to record it, embellish it with all the cutesie stuff like stars or heart shapes or snowflakes etc, edit it a little and post it on you-tube. the whole idea of it makes me giggle, sucha girlie thing to do. teehee. but hey, who knows, if done right with a touch of sophistication, it might catch on!

i made you a tape - essentially a mixtape you make for someone. it's shouldn't cost much, it has a personal touch and it will definitely make your friend's day. heck it'd make my month if someone made this for me! :) if time permits, i'm so doing this for my friends as a birthday present. right. so now i just need to figure out how to do that. is there any program i can use to do that? anyone?

newspaper download codes - when newspaper's print edition marries online edition. the importance of hybridizing media is to share information freely while promoting the physical newspaper, which is where the profit is.

pebble splash - another cutesie quirky idea that makes me smile. and very simple indeed, anyone could do it: grab a tray. put pebbles in it. put the tray full of pebbles in the shower. take your shower. why, you ask? just cuz. some people like to stand on pebbles. :P  it's a cheap and effective foot reflexology therapy too. ;)

digital radio, somewhere useful - uhm. i think the Andrew the idea-churner was probably had a tough day, frustrated about not having a digital radio on-the-go. i agree. every phone should have an in-built digital radio!

public domain music collection - a proposal of a non-profit charitable project to collect and present public domain musical works, collected into interesting compilations. a very noble idea, but how many people out there are willing to go through the troubles of collecting, archiving, packaging, and promoting public domain music and not charge anything for it? i can only think of those who are extraoridinarily passionate in music. if you're one who lives and breathes for music, i say go for it.

blog cast-list automator - someone needs to get on this: create a plugin or code or widget or whatever you guys call it, to have a cast-list of people frequently featured in a blog, so that when someone starts following your blog, they can get an overview of that person as well as previous posts regarding that person. funny, i've actually thought of this and plan to add this feature in my new blog-to-be! i was gonna do it manually and put it in another page, but if someone could make a widget for this and save me some time, that'll be awesome!

the retirement pile - a list of all the must-watch tv series that one should watch after one retires. *like* :)  gosh i can already think of a handful that i'd add to my list.

nationalize EMI - advocating the nationalization of EMI that's on the brink of bankruptcy.

note: Andrew comes up with an idea every day for 30 days. if you're interested, check out his website by clicking on his name. else, stay tuned for the last 9 days of ideas here. :)
