So everyone is at Joe's place watching a movie. Am alone in my room not doing anything special - thumbing through old issues of Newsweek, listening to music, youtube-ing, chatting on msn, reading some articles that I've been putting off for quite a while. And now I'm blabbling here. :)
Don't think I mentioned that I went to Manteca with my ex-roommate Alexa (it's her hometown, somewhere in NorCal) on the labor day weekend. 'twas fun! Took a road trip around (a big thanks to Alexa's dad), saw never-ending stretches of almond orchards, sugar plantations and corn fields. Uncle Lowry was kind enough to bring me around, telling me about the historical sites and geographical info bout the places, of which unfortunately I can barely remember now. Went to a casino too, which was fun, especially the time when Lexa's mom, herself and I played the slot machines together, thinking bout it makes me smile. :) And of course, the fact that I won some money helped too. :P Highlight of the trip was that I could actually be around 4 huge Labradors without freaking out. (Those who know me know that I'm afraid of anything that moves but ain't humans.) So for me to get over my childhood trauma of dogs and could play with them, 4 huge ones mind you, is a big thing for me! Huge accomplishment! Yay for me! :P Another favorite part of that trip is that I get to be around an American family, observe how they interact, and how it differs from the interaction of an average Malaysian (or Asian) family.
All I can say is, I enjoyed the trip very very much. Ooooh, and we went to Ryan (Lexa's bf)'s house too. Sincerely thank them for their hospitality, especially Lexa's dad and mom. Oh and thank you Adam for picking us up from the airport too. :)
After that trip, days were filled by a stretch of duty days, shifting to my new place, beach day-out, hanging out with some friends etc. Time flew by so very quick, and then my girl friends came back, and suddenly it felt as if they've never been gone. Gosh how I missed them during summer.
And now I missed my summer buddies. It's not gonna be the same anymore. But I'll never forget how we bonded and shared stuff throughout the 3 long hot months. We should get together some time... just the few of us. Hmmm.
