Another Week Flies By

So last week was full..! Thursday went out for dinner with relatives, basically the main activity of the day was eating, and in between there were almost 2 hours of ice skating in S.Pyramid.

Friday Aug 25 - went to TPM, did nothing, then went to K-Lunch for karaoke session with Sam and Ben from RI. Dinner with ah goh, thai food. So spicy, which later gave me stomachache the next morning.

Sat Aug 26 - went karaoke in RedBox, The Curve with Chun Yie. Yep, just both of us. Heh dont be surprised, its just that we both wanted to sing so much we didnt really care that its just both of us! haha. Later in the evening went to Austine's house for a small birthday gathering thingy. Well though only 6 ppl turned up, I'm glad I get to see her before I left for the States. :)

Sunday Aug 27 - Jessom's birthday party!!! She wore all red! 'Ong' nya!!! Everyone had a different color dress code, mine was purple :) 'twas fun! and she cooked everything herself! There's pineapple fried rice, pasta, curry chicken, black sauce pork & meat(dao eeyou bak), lo-bak, and mini burgers! It's just - wow!!! =)

Today Aug 28 - Thomas (Jeh Guang)'s birthday!!! Dunno if he reads this, but yeah, happy birthday my friend! May he have a wonderful birthday over there in Aussie. =) Went out with ah goh for steamboat! More crabs! so full!!! Hence here to blog.

K lah. Lazy to update like this day by day. Bet you guys are tired of reading this kinda blogpost too! Sorry... time constraint, that is why. Shall post something more interesting next time! Ciao!

Strawberries and Luggage Bags

Yeah the two things above dont match. Nor do they have anything to do with each other. I just like the sound of it. =P

Yesterday I went to TPM again... but didnt do anything at all.. Vinod and Jess came slightly after I arrived, and we all plus Mr Kong went for tea. :) Lepak at Lunchbox till around 12pm and then followed Loong's car to 1U with meng and sean. Meeting up with ah goh for lunch, but while waiting for him I joined seana baba they all first. Did you know that looking at people eat is one of the most torturous things to do?? I had to do that - looking at them eat lamb shoulder and dunno-what meat for a full half an hour! Then only ah goh arrived, and we had pizza. =) Food! Aaahhh...~ And of course, I got strawberries =) - those sour ones that make you twitch your face and wake you up immediately.

As for luggage bags, yeah today I bought 2 of those. One huge one and another middle size one. Hopefully it's enough for me to squeeze in everything I wanna bring. It's not here yet, so I have to go pick it up tomorrow. Requested for a bright red one, hehe. =) But if they dont have it, then I'll settle for the black one. Posting pics up sooon - those we took in California Pizza Kitchen and of my luggage bags. :)

Happy birthday to dear Jun and Sze Mian!!!

Eat All Day

It's Sunday, Boon Yong's birthday. Boon Yong's my primary school classmate. Strangely enough, though I havent contacted him since then, and it's been 10 years now.., I still remember his birthday every year. And I'm not even that close to him. Wonder how's he doing now...

So yesterday, I had lunch buffet at Zipangu, Shangri-La KL with my mom. Pity I forgot to bring my camera or else I'd have snapped lotsa pics. Sometimes I wonder why the hell do I get a cam for, if I keep forgetting to bring it out everytime. -.- Anyway, the sushi was REAL goood. So fresh that I couldnt help it but refilling my plate with the raw salmon so many times, aaaahhh I can still taste it in my mouth right now. =) What else... the rest are good also, but I took a lot of that so I cant really remember how the rest tasted. And oooooohhhh the strawberries! I took so much my mom gave me the look... she thinks i'm such a glutton. which is true, but hey, you gotta eat all you can to get your money's worth eh?! And the deserts...! Cookies were good, but I didnt really like the 'kuihs' though.. and the green tea ice cream was great tooo! yummmm..

What a feast!! Thanks to my ah goh who lent me his member card so that I get a generous discount and get to eat such scrumptious food and spend time with mom. Killing 3 birds with a stone. =) So you'd think after such great meal, perhaps I should let my stomach rest for the rest of the day... But you're wrong. I didnt.

There's a dinner gathering with my chonghwa gang, just a small group of 11 of us, at California Pizza Kitchen, KLCC. And what do we do there? Eat lah of course, whatelse. Rocky and Kenny would've come, but their grandma just passed away, so they couldnt make it. (My condolences to their family.) Heavy lunch, heavy dinner. After yesterday, I'm pretty darn sure I put on 2 kgs already. But I dare not check, just yet. I dont wanna know also. Fat, fat lah. Who cares. :P Anyway, I digressed. So after dinner, we went to Rocky's home to pay our respect to his grandma. Sat there till 1.15am and headed home.

Found dad sitting at the stairs. FREAKED out. Asked him what he's doing. Said he's waiting for me. Made me feel extremely guilty, needless to say... Guess he's using psychological blackmail so that I'd be home early next time. Smart. But little did he know that his moodiness suffocates me... sigh. Why does my blog end with a sad note again. Lucky today he's better dee. whew.

Flight tickets!

And finally! We got our tickets! Me, V, Jess, my bro and meng loong hwa they all went to MSL office today. After that, Jess V and I went to look for Jean and had lunch together in Esquire Kitchen. Oh btw, did I mention Esquire in Sg Wang was burnt down a while back? 'twas closed for 2 weeks, ... hopefully it's back to business by now.

So after lunch, guess what. We went for a movie. Click, again! I didnt mind watching it again and they wanted to watch, so we went in, had a good laugh, and us girls cried like babies near the ending of the show. Got home pretty early, and I thought I could spend some quality time with dad tonight (dad's on leave for 2 days cuz he's sick and he's feeling better today already). But didn't quite turn out that way... unhappy things happened and there goes my quality time with family. : (

Everyone in the house felt the negative aura cuz of dad's sulking. Tension. Sighhh. Why does it always have to be like this? Why why why. I feel suffocated in my own house, how sad is that. Just wanted to get out of the house now. Waiting for ah goh to call, see if he wanna meet up for supper. Life sucks, rite now.

My flight details, if anyone of you wanna send me off: tues 12 sept, 9.40am flight. =) hahah *hint hint*

Long Time No See

It's been really really long since I last saw Sze Mian, and today I finally got the chance to! So glad! Met up for lunch, and then window-shopped for a while, which then, knowing me the glutton, was followed by the dessert session! Cakes!! What else! =) Was craving for cakes, heh. We had oreo cheese cake and choc mud cake. Too bad I forgot my camera, or else I'd have taken some pics and post 'em up here like how Jun always does. Jun, if you're reading this, I think your blog seems more like a food adventure blog! =) Which I love so much, cuz even though I don't get to taste what you've had, I can at least imagine 'em melting in my mouth! But one day, I'm gonna go have the real ones! ;)

A friend asked me, so what did you both do the whole day in Mid Valley? I blinked. And said, well we talked all the time! Blank stare on the friend's face. -.- Somehow people don't get how anyone can talk and talk and talk non stop without doing any stuff e.g. watching a movie, go bowl, or play pool or u know, actually doing something. Seemed strange to them. To me, it's my catch-up time with my friends. =) I dont care if we dont do anything, I just wanna catch up with all the things that I've been missing out in their lives and fill them in bout mine.

It's just nice to meet up with old friends. And as I type this, a wide smile spreads across my face. This memory of our meeting shall last me two years or more, till we meet again. :)

Little Boy, Adult Talk

Zeh ('sis' in Hokkien), I think you should cut your hair real short!

Blur. Why?

Because you won't look good in short hair. And if you don't look good, no guys will notice you, so then no guys will go after you!

Pause. Why is it a problem if guys go after me?

Then you'll probably get involved in a relationship, which I think you shouldn't.

Starting to feel irritated. And why is that, pray tell, lil bro?

Because then you won't do well in your studies.

Irritated. Why do you think me being in a relationship would affect my studies?

Because I don't think you can handle both things at the same time.

Really irritated. Explain yourself, lil bro.

Because you've never been in a relationship before!

Speechless. Who told you I've never been in a relationship before??

Horrr!!! *shocked* You have?! I'm telling mommy!!! (yelling "MA......!!")
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I dunno whether to laugh or cry. Is he cute, funny or irritating. Maybe all of the above. Acting smart and thinking he knows all. My dear lil brother who doesnt know much bout me let alone my love life wanna give me advice! Kids nowadays...!!! Yuppp, that's my lil bro. Go figure.

Rainy Monday

Woke up feeling cold. Aaahhh... its one of those days when you wake up and see that the gloomy sky that's gonna cry any second then. Some people get all gloomy with the weather as well, but not me. I'm one of those few people who loves rain. But not unconditionally of course. I love rain only when I'm indoors. Or when I'm outdoor, i'm not wearing something nice or my sneakers. But I love gloomy-sky days more. Like now, cuz it's cool, it's windy and it's not wet. How nice can it get huh...?! :P

On cold days like these, I just wanna sit and stare out of the window... looking at everything there is outside, from the tiniest leaves to my neighbour's paper windmill to the plants and the flock of stupid big ugly crows (which by the way I caught trying to steal my red plastic hangers 3 times since the last incident) to the dirt in the small garden outside my house.

But of course, the star on days like these is my orange color thermo-mug (or whatever you call it) one given by Siqin. I have another one from mand, but i use 'em on different occasions. One on cold days, another on stressful days. Just cuz I'd think of them when I use the mugs on these occasions and it warms my heart. Oh how I missed them...

Coffee black, steaming hot in the mug that warm my hands. It's raining outside already. Cold windy morning it is. And I miss my friends. Wonder how they're doing lately. =)

Recipe: Original Bolognaise Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients: fresh tomatoes, garlic, minced beef and pork, cans of tomato puree, extra virgin olive oil, butter, red wine (small amount), herbs (optional). And last but not least - an extra helping of love. :)

Steps:
  1. Cut a cross slit at the bottom of the tomatoes (so that after boiling them for a while, the skin of tomatoes can be peeled off easily). Boil the tomatoes in water (till the skins appear to crack a bit and can be peeled. make sure its not overboiled till too soggy).
  2. Peel off skins of tomatoes. Blend them (careful not to overdo it till it's too watery).
  3. Pour some olive oil onto a heated pan. Fry some garlic till golden brown, then pour the blended tomatoes in it. Let it simmer (low fire).
  4. While waiting, put some butter onto another heated pan. After melting it, add olive oil (so then you dont have to use just butter). Fry some garlic till golden brown, then add the minced beef and pork and fry till its cooked (careful not to overcook it else it'll be hard). Off fire and set it aside while waiting for the tomatoes to be done.
  5. When tomatoes are ready, add it to the meat, mix well and let it simmer. This might take a while.
  6. When blended tomatoes and meat are well-mixed and not much juice is left, add tomato puree (depending on how sour you want it to be) and mix well. Add wine to your taste. Stir well and let it simmer a while more.
There you go! You have your spaghetti sauce, ready to serve. :) Sprinkle some herbs eg. minced mint on top of your serving of pasta and sauce if you fancy. Oh and cheese powder if you like too!
Special thanks to ah goh who taught me how to cook this. Haven't tried it on my own yet, but will do so this weekend for my family. =) will let you guys know if I succeed.

Fun in Kitchen

Living for 21 years and been having steamboat since as long as I can remember for our yearly reunion dinner during CNY yet dont know how to prepare the seafood for steamboat. Yup. That's me lah. So embarrassing, I know. But never too late to learn!! :)

I learned how to cut off the pointy edges and the feet of the prawns. It's not difficult, but the prawn is kinda slippery, so the trick is to hold it gently and cut it as fast as you can. Oh and I learned how to clean and cut the squid! :) All this while I took for granted these things are done and didnt really offer to help. (Well I did help to clean up the dishes but that's different... it's so much easier compared to preparing food..)

Anyway. Sense of accomplishment apart, I'm starting to miss Msia and everyone here. My smelly pillows, my grandma, my friends, my stereo and CDs, my fav ah beng's asam laksa etc etc. Wanted to write something in mandarin that day, but somehow didnt. Told u I'm a sloth. But I'm gonna miss every bit of Msia nonetheless. The smell of the air, the blue bright sky, the heavy downpour on certain days and the smell of after-rain air, my best friend's hugs, my powderpuffs, my goh's challenging tease, the late night yumcha sessions with shihui and songjun, all the outings with the gang, even my dad's nagging. :P well maybe not the last one. heh..

Little Things in a Shopping Mall...

.... that I couldn't help noticing:
  1. A quite good looking guy (but more on the gay sense of good looking) who walks in a very awkward way that made him seemed so out of place in the whole shopping mall. I'd walk up to him and give him a big bear hug and tell him everythg's gonna be okay. IF I have the balls. (But I dont. So I didnt.)
  2. A bunch of korean boys all with curly hair, small beaded eyes and small style of fashion. They all looked so cute. And young. Fresh. Not that I intend to eat them or anything, regardless of how you interpret the definition of the word 'eat'. All I'm saying is, they looked.... so Korean. -.- and I'm considering perming my hair. :P
  3. This couple whom the boyfriend looked more like the girlfriend of the girl if you looked from behind. His hair is so friggin' long (longer than mine and mine's really long already) and much much more thick and silkier than mine. Imagine. I just loved his hair. Oh btw, if you wonder how I know he's a guy rather than the girlfriend of a lesbian partner, it's cuz when he turned around it's pretty obvious - his face, his you-know-where and his flat chest.
  4. 8 out of 10 girls have long hair; 9 out of the 10 have proportionate legs (as compared to the whole body); and those with nice figures have not-so-nice features, those with nice face have not-so-nice figures, those who're on the plump side have nice silky healthy hair. God is fair.... sometimes. (ps: this does not always apply to all girls in general and is not a valid statistics okay. just my few minutes' observation on a particular day.)
  5. Myself being very bored hence all this nonsensical talk. Dont bother. It's me on one of those panda-eyes days.
Say cheese. And smile! :)

V Day

No its not Valentine's day. It's the day I was dragged out by Vinod my dear housemate. -_- Yesterday (wednesday) I met up with Jet and Chee Kai for lunch in OneU, and later proceeded to watch The Lake House, which I've watched it already but because of Keanu Reeves plus I just love romance movies I dont mind watching it for the second time. Movie ended around almost six in the evening and we thought why not a second movie. So we opted for Superman Returns because only Jet watched it and he didnt mind watching it again. So it's a 4 hours movie marathon straight up! Went home after that of course. So I was kinda tired and thought I'd use the next whole day to just sit in and rest.

But no! Vinod called me freakin' early in the morning to ask me if I wanna go buy luggage bag - which I needed to - but I was still sleeping at that time and he had to call me so early. eeesh. So I said no. And continued sleeping. Minutes later he called and asked if I wanna go take the graduation photos and I thought yea why not better now than later. Said he wanna go buy some clothes in Sg Wang as well, so we made plans to meet at Masjid Jamek station. That, is another story of itself. I dunno why I was so dumb to agree to meet there cuz I had to walk a bloody far distance from KL old train station all the way to MJ station while I could've easily switched from KTM to star LRT at Bank Negara station and go to Hang Tuah straight. Stupid me.

Anyway, da di da, shop shop shop and he got himself a pair of pants. I got jack. Put on a few pounds maybe. Went to Mid Valley to meet up with Choon and Raudhee for dinner. At Piccolo Mondo. Went home after that. All in all it was a fun day (except for the walking part and the stinky sweat). Was nice spending the whole day with him though... a bit like the old times. =) Back when we're still in TPM and arena... which aint too long ago but feels like eons ago.

That's it. That's today, thursday. Tomorrow I'm gonna stay in and sleep the whole day and just be a swine. aaahhhhhh..~~

Superheroes

When I was a kid I used to love watching Superman, the series. And of course, Spiderman as well as Batman. But some people I know just couldnt stand Superman. Condemned him just bout everything from his fashion sense to his invincible powers. Too fake, they said. Some dont like Batman - said he's too rich, and being rich of course he can build all those high tech equipments and gadgets and hence he's not really a superhero. Some dont like Spiderman cuz they just dont like spiders. -_-''

Truth is, if you look closely, all of us have a hero of our own that we look up to. Some happened to be Jackie Chan, some Jet Li, some worshipped top models or top musicians etc etc. He or she is someone who's near perfection that we'd wish to be like that person in one way or another. In fact I think it's something great! Great that we have someone that we admire. So we'd push ourselves to improve and become a better person. Vinod would work out just to look like Paul Walker. Roy would do anythg to look like Josh Duhamel. hahaha... Unless of course, your hero happened to be a villain... Then I have nothing to say. -.-

But guess what, the best part bout superheroes is that, even though they have superpowers and are extraordinarily strong, they still have their weaknesses. Every single one of them. Who says superman is invincible? He has his weakness, and that's kryptonite. And because of their weaknesses, we felt more connected to them. As though we arent that worse off, and there's something in common. heh.

TPM Graduation Photos...

On the 29th July 2006, Saturday.

August and Everything After

Time zoomed pass us so mercilessly I barely noticed the past 3 months. Felt like it was just yesterday that I just finished my last final exams in TPM. But in fact so many things have happened since then and I've done lots of stuff (though nothing especially useful to mankind). =P Well this month is dedicated to health. Hope I can exercise more. =)

That day I was unpacking my luggage.. stuff that I brought back from Russia 2 years ago were still in it.. believe it or not. It's not that I'm so lazy till I didnt unpack it then, but because there were too many things I couldnt find space in my room to put all those stuff. Hence I left them in the luggage. Whilst packing I found lots of stickers... haha my stickers collection craze back then... and a love story that made me cry so so much the 1st time I read it (LL printed it out for me back when we're in Form 5)...well now as I read it I didnt cry anymore, though still touching. =) ooh and I found a letter written by dad 10 years ago too. 1996 - the year of my UPSR exam. That is one thing that makes me tear every single time I read it. Nothing beats it man. Will try to scan it and post it up here. Dad's love for us, disappointment my brother caused him then, and the fact that he's still pretty much the same now... saddens me. Is it ever gonna change, I wonder.

September, October, November and December will pass even faster. Next thing we know we're all celebrating New Year 2007. But I wont be here with my friends. Li Ling, Song Jun, Shi Hui, remember the night we spent together on last year's NY eve? Will miss you guys very very much. hehe getting all emotional now...
